Taylor Hopkinson is in search of an Estimator Director to join a global team with a leading renewable energy company, driving the clean energy transition with investments in wind, solar, and battery storage across nearly 30 countries. Candidate must be in Austin, Texas, or Chicago, Illinois and must be open for a hybrid schedule 3 days a week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 6-8 estimators, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and equipment
- Ensure that all estimates are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with project requirements and company standards
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure that estimates are based on the most current data
- Review and analyze historical data and trends to improve the accuracy and reliability of future estimates
- Develop and implement standardized estimation processes and tools to enhance efficiency and consistency
- Monitor and report on the performance of the estimation team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in estimation techniques and tools
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and open communication within the estimation team and with other departments

Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in construction estimation, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
