We are looking to hire a trader for our US Event Driven Strategies business. This will be an opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a genuine interest in event-driven investing. You will execute multiple client single stock orders and multi-leg spread orders, including with currency or derivative hedges. You will be based in New York, working within a global event-driven business and gaining an understanding of international equity markets within a flat team structure. You will interact closely with other key business lines at Clear Street, such as operations, securities finance, derivatives, swaps, and prime brokerage.

Clear Street's mission is to become a single-source platform serving various investor types across multiple asset classes globally. The U.K. team is expanding our established equities, options, and fixed-income prime brokerage business into a new market.

You will work in the Event Driven Strategies division, a global team with members ranging from 8 to over 25 years of experience in this niche asset class.

• Work with the Global Head of Event Driven Strategies and the team to provide agency best execution for clients in merger arbitrage, holding companies, index rebalances, and spin-offs.
• Assist in developing internal tech processes to enable efficient scaling and cross-selling with other areas of Clear Street.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory, economic, and macroeconomic factors affecting clients and products.

• Minimum 2 years of experience executing cash equity agency orders, preferably in US Event Driven strategies.
• Deep knowledge of US and Canadian market structures and regulations.
• Basic understanding of derivatives and bond execution.
• Strong IT, OMS, and Excel skills.
• Coding skills are a plus but not essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and team spirit.
