Equipment Operator Utilities - City of Clemson South Carolina : Job Details

Under regular supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of utility systems. Work involves operating and performing maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment and trucks utilized in utility maintenance and repair activities; acting as the foreman in the absence of the supervisor; serving as crew chief in the water and wastewater collection departments. Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills Supervises and performs repair and maintenance of water and sewer lines and appurtenances in a safe and effective manner. Must be able to repair both water, sewer and stormwater lines so as to not jeopardize the health of the public and crewmembers. Must be able to use good construction installation techniques and processes for water, sewer and stormwater line installations and repairs. Operates heavy equipment and trucks under a variety of conditions performing required work tasks in a safe and effective manner.
