The Educational Opportunity Program ( EOP ) Associate Director, Student Success & Innovation role is responsible for assessing and ensuring the effectiveness of student support services within federally funded TRIO programs at Marquette University. This Associate Director role works closely with executive leadership, other associate directors and university committees to implement data-driven initiatives. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assessment & Compliance: Assessment & CompliancePartner with the Educational Opportunity Program ( EOP ) Director/Associate Director of EOP in managing five ongoing TRIO programs by ensuring alignment with grant objectives and institutional goals. Lead the preparation and submission of grant proposals, funding applications, and performance reports to external agencies. Collaborate with the Administrative Coordinator on U.S. Department of Education reporting requirements. Oversee grant and contract compliance, ensuring adherence to internal policies and federal regulations. Conduct annual and semi-annual evaluations to assess program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.2. Collaboration & DesignWork closely with executive leadership, associate directors, faculty, and university committees to align TRIO programs with institutional student success strategies. Partner with academic departments to design and enhance course offerings and provide quality tutorial services.3. Program CoordinationOversee daily operations including staffing, tutoring, and curriculum planning to ensure smooth program delivery. Develop and manage budgets and resource allocation to support effective program delivery and continuous improvement. Lead the development of academic, social, and personal development workshops.4. Data-Driven Decision MakingLeverage quantitative and qualitative data to guide program improvements and strategic decisions. Facilitate staff data retreats to evaluate outcomes and enhance service delivery. Collaborate with associate directors to implement initiatives that boost student engagement and retention. Support the development of systems for collecting and analyzing performance metrics. Stay informed on emerging research and best practices through professional conferences and literature review.5. Student-Centered ApproachFoster a supportive and inclusive environment where students thrive academically and personally, reflecting Marquette's commitment to cura personalis—care for the whole person. Serve as a counselor to assigned undergraduates, providing individualized guidance and support. Perform additional duties as assigned to meet evolving student and program needs.6. Institutional EngagementRepresent TRIO programs in university-wide initiatives and strategic partnerships, including participation in committees such as the Common Core Committee and My Success Initiatives, to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and student success efforts.7. Leadership and ManagementResponsible for the leadership and supervision of staff, which includes but is not limited to hiring, terminating, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc.Responsible for the supervision of student employees (tutors), which includes but is not limited to hiring, training, disciplinary actions, ending the student's assignment, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master's degree in Education or related fieldSeven years' experience, including program evaluation and assessment, curriculum development and college teaching.Supervisory experienceBudget forecasting and management exprienceComputer literate including knowledge of computer research techniques (statistical software and database use/management),Excellent organizational skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.Personal experience in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting students in the Program's target population.
