About the Role
We are seeking ahighly motivated, safety-focused, and results-driven Environmental Specialistto join our Regional Compliance Team atChiquita Canyon Landfill. This role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance who thrives in a hands-on, field-based role.
What You'll Do
- Oversee environmental compliance activities including audits, inspections, monitoring, and reporting.
- Interpret and track site permits, regulatory orders, and ensure timely reporting.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and support permit renewals and updates.
- Analyze groundwater, wastewater, and stormwater data; support environmental reporting (e.g., SPCC, SWPPP, GHG, Title V).
- Coordinate and manage third-party consultants and contractors.
- Conduct internal inspections and support site visits and audits.
- Develop and deliver training, SOPs, and compliance documentation.
- Work in field conditions including exposure to landfill gas, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field.
- 5+ years of relevant environmental compliance experience.
- Strong knowledge of California environmental regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel (5%) and work occasional weekends.
- Valid driver's license and ability to use personal vehicle for site visits.
Work Environment
- This is a5-day on-site rolewith occasional travel and fieldwork.
