Environmental Services Specialist I/Linen Aide (3rd shift 10:30pm - 7am)

La Rabida Childrens Hospital is hiring a full-time Environmental Services Specialist for the overnight shift in our EVS Department in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:

We are a small childrens acute care hospital focused on treating complex medical conditions, chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities, and abuse and trauma.

The EVS specialist assists in all operational activities, maintaining a pleasant, comfortable, and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. An EVS Specialist is responsible for cleaning fixtures, sinks, toilets, and tubs, emptying and cleaning waste containers; replacing liners, high dusting (i.e., vents, clocks, tops of doors, door frames), and making beds with clean linen. The specialist is also responsible for uploading linen data into the hospital laundry computer upon cleaning in-house linen.

Essential EVS Specialist/Linen Aide Functions:

• Deliver clean linen to assigned areas and sort worn, stained, or otherwise imperfect articles.
• Clean in-house linen and upload data into the computer.
• Pickup, receive clean linen and sort clean linen by removing linen cart.
• Receive clean linen carts, inspect for accuracy, and prepare for distribution.
• Dust mop and wet mop floors and baseboards.
• Empty and wash waste containers, replace liners, dispose of trash, and separate biohazard waste.
• High dust door/doorframe, clock, wall fixtures, and vending machine.

What we need from you:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.
• Prefer two or three years' experience in health care environmental service/linen work.
• Licensure/Certification: None.
• Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Required to read, write, and speak English.

Compensation Information: Pay Range: $15.68 - $23.52
