The Axel Group is seeking a motivated Environmental Scientist to join the team on behalf of a well-established environmental consulting and engineering firm located in Swedesboro, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting a wide range of site investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments, subsurface investigations, and remedial projects.
- Conduct soil and groundwater sampling, UST investigations, and prepare accurate field documentation.
- Draft technical reports and maintain project records, including field logs, chains of custody, and sample tracking.
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure successful project execution.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts and interact with clients as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- 1–3 years of experience in environmental consulting or a similar technical role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in technical reporting.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive work ethic.
- Willingness to perform fieldwork in varying site conditions.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Familiarity with NJDEP and PADEP regulations.
- 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (or 8-Hour Refresher).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS, or environmental data software.
