What You'll Do
Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking an Environmental Project Manager I to join our team. This role performs multiple tasks on a project as assigned by their supervisor. Depending on the project and abilities, they will take an increasing role and responsibility for the project. Work will be a mix of field and office. The ideal candidate presents a positive customer service attitude and understanding of ECS Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively mentor junior staff and support overall development of the team
- Attend project meetings and provide solutions to technical and administrative issues as necessary
- Interface with clients regularly. Maintain and develop a client database.
- Manage project budgets, prepare change orders, invoices, and assist with collection efforts
- Schedule, train, and oversee subordinate staff members
- Prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines; consult with your supervisor weekly for task prioritization
- Manage environmental projects, applying technical support as needed, often handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Prepare proposals and change orders
- Prepare environmental reports, perform analyses, and provide recommendations for review by senior staff
- Review deliverables prepared by subordinate staff before submission for senior and principal review
- Host or attend project discussions with clients and follow up on reports to address questions
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking ForQualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields such as Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or relevant environmental consulting disciplines
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Good knowledge of environmental principles and applications
- Understanding of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and test methods
- Ability to develop and manage client relationships and seek new opportunities
- Experience managing multiple projects independently
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and walk on uneven terrains
