The Environmental PM is a key member of the Environmental Infrastructure Development team supporting delivery of AWS datacenter expansion projects. You will partner with AWS stakeholders to develop regional and site-specific development strategies that enable the construction and operation of AWS datacenters. You will lead environmental due diligence for site selection and acquisition, develop and execute regional and site-specific environmental permitting strategies, and support environmental compliance during construction and in preparation for operations. This role requires regular engagement during the development lifecycle with multiple AWS teams including Real Estate, Risk, Water, Design Engineering, Public Policy, Community Relations, and Construction, as well as external stakeholders including regulatory agencies, consultants, and contractors. You will coordinate with internal and external counsel on site acquisition, permitting, and regulatory compliance risks and support development of contractual environmental obligations.

A successful candidate in this role will have a proven track record of delivering multiple, high-priority projects with tight timelines that require strong communication with partner teams, outside consultants and counsel, and regulatory agencies. The candidate must have a strong understanding of multi-media environmental permitting and compliance requirements associated with large-scale infrastructure, as well as experience with Clean Water Act (CWA) 404 and NPDES permitting in the eastern United States, Phase I/Phase II site evaluations, and large-scale development projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, engineering or related discipline.- 7+ years delivering multi-media environmental permitting, and compliance projects with specific experience managing federal and state requirements and permitting associated with surface water, groundwater, wastewater, natural and cultural resources, and endangered species.- 5+ years experience delivering environmental due diligence for greenfield and brownfield sites, including Phase I and Phase II ESAs.- 5+ years experience working with large project teams and multiple stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years datacenter or critical infrastructure due diligence, permitting, design, construction, and/or risk assessment experience strongly preferred.- Experience managing and/or supporting community/public interactions and evaluating and managing environmental policy changes.- Sustainability experience for large scale infrastructure development.- Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization.- The Environmental Program Manager must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong environmental regulatory knowledge and experience in environmental due diligence and environmental permit preparation.- Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies to obtain environmental permits and manage compliance requirements in the Western United States, including Oregon.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
