This temporary position will work with staff on the Environmental Operations Team in a fast-paced and dynamic Accredited Public Health Department. The position exists to protect the environment through helping community members adopt sustainable waste reduction and recycling practices. The successful candidate will work at one of the Washington County Environmental Centers in Forest Lake and Woodbury. The duties of the position will include screening incoming material to ensure only acceptable materials are being delivered, directing traffic in a manner that provides safety of site users and equipment operators, directing site users to proper locations for all materials accepted at site, and answering site user questions or directing them to the appropriate website or phone number. The successful candidate will have strong customer service skills and can successfully navigate difficult conversations with customers. Selection technique: Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top-scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration. Hours/days: Monday Saturday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Sunday 11:00 am 4:30 pm. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs. Anticipated hiring rate: $16.50 hourly. E-Verify participation: Washington County participates in the federal E-Verify program. This means that Washington County will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
