Job Summary

Provides program oversight and strategic direction for the environmental management system at a complex production facility or multiple facilities. Leads technical solutions and provides leadership for environmental aspects of plant operations, including engineering and maintenance projects. Oversees and drives results to meet sustainability goals. Supervises Environmental Manager I and/or junior professionals. Participates in developing and implementing corporate environmental management programs across facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Mentor and train junior environmental staff
• Ensure all staff receive environmental training
• Represent LW as environmental SME internally and externally
• Oversee environmental activities at high-complexity or multiple facilities
• Implement corporate policies and standards
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates
• Develop environmental risk registers and KPIs
• Manage environmental audits and regulatory inspections
• Coordinate environmental data collection and analysis
• Manage environmental consultants and projects
• Develop environmental capital plans and identify impacts of projects
• Ensure compliance with process safety management programs
• Support sustainable development initiatives and permitting processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Sciences (Engineering, Biology, Chemistry); Master's preferred
• Professional Engineer license preferred
• 6-12 years of progressive experience in environmental/engineering fields
• Expertise in environmental regulations affecting the food industry
• Strong leadership and presentation skills
• Experience with acquisitions/divestitures and engineering scope development
