Environmental Health Safety Specialist - Diversified Recruitment Services, LLC : Job Details

Responsibilities

• Ensure operational compliance with environmental and safety regulations, including monthly reporting.
• Maintain OSHA record keeping, oversee associate return-to-work/light duty programs, and manage treatment/coordination of facility work-related injuries and illnesses with physicians.
• Coordinate workers' compensation claims for job-related injuries and illnesses with insurance carriers.
• Serve as Training Coordinator for Environmental, Health & Safety issues.
• Act as Risk Management Plant Facilitator and drive waste minimization initiatives.
• Participate as a Safety and Ergonomics Committee Member.
• Manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Represent the facility for ISO 14000 Environmental Management compliance.
• Review plans and specifications for new machinery/equipment to ensure safety precautions are incorporated prior to production.
• Conduct plant tours to inspect fire/safety equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Provide or coordinate safety and first aid training to educate employees on policies, laws, and safe practices.
• Investigate workplace accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare detailed reports.
• Coordinate air quality testing for OSHA compliance.
• Provide support to the Assistant HR Manager as needed.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a related field from a four-year college or university, OR 2–4 years of relevant experience/training in Environmental, Health & Safety (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Extensive First Aid Training (e.g., First Responder, CPR, etc.).
