For more information on what our cabinet has tooffer, check out our YouTube page our Careers page By joining the Division of Water, Surface Water Permits Branch, Industrial Section as an EnvironmentalEngineer Technician I in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to support permit writers in thecompletion of Kentucky Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (KPDES) Industrial Discharge Permits for per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) wastewater discharges. Holders of the Environmental Engineer Technician I position will complete tasks such as:

  • Assist making technical assessments of permitting requirements for PFAS wastewater discharges.
  • Prepare draft reports and outreach resources for permittees in support of PFAS source identification
  • Conduct beginning level engineering review and analysis of KPDES permittees' applications, reports,discharge monitoring records, and other pertinent documents regarding PFAS wastewater discharges.
  • Provide technical assistance to regulated communities.
