Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned environmental professional to lead and manage the Environmental Services Department. This senior-level role involves a blend of technical oversight, business development, team leadership, and client relationship management. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in environmental consulting, a passion for mentoring staff, and the strategic mindset to drive departmental growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee environmental projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Manage and mentor a team of environmental professionals, including performance reviews and career development planning.
  • Conduct and review environmental assessments, including Phase I ESAs, and field sampling of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor.
  • Lead surveys for asbestos-containing materials (ACM) and lead-based paint (LBP).
  • Prepare and review technical reports and regulatory documentation.
  • Collaborate with leadership to set departmental goals and manage budgets.
  • Drive business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of new staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Professional registration as a P.E. (Professional Engineer) or P.G. (Professional Geologist) is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in environmental consulting and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client management skills.
  • Most work is local to the Upper Midwest region, with minimal travel required.
