Job Title: Environmental Cost Estimator/Scheduler – Denver, CO

Reports to: Director of Environmental Remediation

FLSA Status: Exempt

Bhate is seeking an Environmental Cost Estimator/Scheduler with environmental restoration and compliance experience for the Denver, CO office. Bhate specializes in investigating and cleaning up client sites impacted by fuels, solvents, munitions, and other contaminants, including PFAS. The company also handles environmental compliance projects for DoD clients and federal agencies, ensuring adherence to air, water, hazardous materials, and waste regulations. Bhate's projects include environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance work for agencies such as the DoD, USACE, EPA, and others across the US. The Denver office also supports Fueling System Upgrades, Facility Abatement/Demolition, and Construction.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for environmental remediation and compliance projects, and prepare and maintain project schedules using MS Project.
  • Prepare cost estimates and schedules for proposals and maintain estimates-to-complete (ETCs) and schedules during project execution.
  • Work on projects including environmental investigations, design and optimization of remediation systems, and compliance projects.
  • Collaborate with Proposal Capture Managers and Project Managers on estimates, budgets, and schedules during proposal and project phases.

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project is required. Experience with estimating software like Timberline and scheduling tools like Primavera is a plus.
  • Knowledge of environmental restoration and compliance business practices, including labor, travel, subcontractors, ODCs, and profit margins.
  • Understanding of scheduling requirements such as task sequencing, CPM analysis, and resource-loaded scheduling.
  • Familiarity with subcontractor requirements for environmental projects (drilling, lab analysis, waste removal, etc.).
  • Experience with US Government cost estimates, including EPA, Air Force, Army, Navy, and AFCEC.
  • Knowledge of UST, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
  • Practical understanding of environmental remediation engineering methods and equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and be versatile.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% for site visits during proposals and projects.

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in sciences (geology, chemistry, etc.) or engineering (environmental, civil, etc.) is preferred; non-degree candidates with significant experience may be considered. A minimum of 5 years' experience in cost estimating and scheduling for environmental projects is required.
