Environmental Compliance Manager [GD-14370] - Shirley Parsons : Job Details

A sustainable, leading waste management company is searching for an Environmental Compliance Manager to join their team. This role will be based in the Worcester MA area and will be responsible for the management and improvement of environmental programs across multiple sites within the territory.

Reporting to the Director of Environmental Compliance, the incumbent will be responsible for acting as subject matter expert on environmental regulations and standards as well as directing and monitoring all plant environmental compliance.

The Role:

• Implement policies and procedures necessary to meet requirements of environmental, policies, and federal, state, county or local environmental, regulations, laws, and standards.
• Implement environmental training programs for facilities.
• Develop and implement monitoring programs for solid waste generation and water discharges to meet the required regulations.
• Conduct plant environmental inspections and prepare reports.
• Act as an Emergency Coordinator.
• Act as point of contact for communication, documentation and reporting to all agencies.
• Maintain accurate filing system for environmental compliance records, including permit applications, permits, records, operating logs, monitoring reports.
• Complete on-boarding training programs and requests support from corporate EHS staff when necessary.
• Follow standard environmental and safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards.

The Candidate:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Environmental or Science, or equivalent, in or related to EHS.
• 5 or more years of experience with environmental compliance programs.
• Waste management experience highly preferred
• Strong RCRA, SPCC and Stormwater experience highly preferred
• Experience with CEMs and emissions testing preferred.
• Sufficient knowledge, experience and understanding of environmental requirements to implement related policies and procedures.
• Prior experience working with local, state and federal regulatory agencies and involvement in negotiations preferred.
