Position Title: Environmental Commodities Trader Location: New York, Calgary , Houston Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Environmental Commodities Trader to join a leading commodities trading platform and growing Environmental Markets team. This role is responsible for executing trading strategies across carbon credits, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and other environmental instruments, with a focus on optimizing risk-adjusted returns and supporting the company's broader sustainability objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Execute trades in compliance and voluntary environmental markets, including but not limited to carbon offsets, RECs, and LCFS credits.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and pricing dynamics to identify trading opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with counterparties, brokers, and market participants.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including risk, legal, sustainability, and finance teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and compliance standards.
- Contribute to the development of proprietary market insights and trading models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in commodities, energy, or environmental markets trading.
- Strong understanding of global carbon and renewable energy markets (e.g., EU ETS, CORSIA, VCM, LCFS).
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and deliver consistent trading performance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
