Job Description :

The position will provide leadership & oversight to the EHS management system & staff to ensure compliance with all appropriate government regulations, company policies and customer ESG requirements. The position acts as the facility ISO 14001 Management Representative and reports to the Director of Facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop & implement effective EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Work with the Management Team, EHS staff and Associates at all levels to prevent occupational injuries & environmental impacts and improve overall EHS performance.
  • Manage the EHS Staff to ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT & customer regulations including Title V air permit, RCRA VSQG, DSW-IDD, SPCC, SWP3, ISO 14001 and others.
  • Ensure accurate & on-time completion of all internal and external EHS reports.
  • Manage and direct outside consultants and contractors to assist with assigned projects.
  • Lead the Safety Committee to promote Associate involvement in Safety activities at all levels.
  • Work closely with the Safety Engineer & plant Nurse to investigate injuries & near misses, identify root causes, implement countermeasures, and manage the workers compensation program as needed.
  • Support the Environmental Technician's daily management of waste handling & wastewater treatment systems.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene monitoring and develop appropriate control measures.
  • Communicate EHS Program activities & performance to the Management Team, Team Leaders and Associates at all levels through weekly & monthly reports and company electronic communications.
  • Lead development & implementation of new EHS policies and procedures as they become necessary.
  • Maintain the facility's Integrated Contingency Plan and train involved individuals in appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Coordinate EHS training development & implementation in all required areas.
  • Support Engineering & Manufacturing teams' design and installation of safe & ergonomic equipment and workstations.
  • Work with top management to develop and manage annual EHS budgets for expenses and capital investment

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Associates at all levels must maintain their Roles and Responsibilities as outlined within company's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO9001 and ISO 14001. These industry standards are necessary to ensure continued Customer Satisfaction in relationship with our philosophy of Continuous Quality Improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an EHS discipline, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 5+ years coordinating EHS programs in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work independently and manage numerous projects without the need of routine oversight
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and team building / coaching skills
  • Strong regulatory knowledge; OSHA, EPA, DOT, ISO
  • Strong ability to analyze & interpret data and identify root cause
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, continuously changing manufacturing environment
