Job Summary and Qualifications

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Transylvania Regional Hospital equips you with the tools needed to thrive in a modern healthcare environment. This paid program is designed to ease your transition from school to practice through structured learning experiences that include:

  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area
  • Monthly educational sessions
  • Preceptorship with a dedicated facility mentor
  • Hands-on simulations for skill measurement
  • Guidance from experienced nurse leaders
  • Participating in an evidence-based practice project

The RN Resident will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department needs and nursing standards. Collaborating with medical staff and caregivers, you will provide individual, comprehensive, and empathetic care, advocating for patients, families, and caregivers to enhance their healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient conditions during admissions and scheduled shifts, diagnosing any changes that need reporting.
  • Conduct procedures and monitor patients as required, ensuring thorough documentation in medical records.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor for expected outcomes, promptly addressing any adverse reactions.
  • Deliver exceptional care by quickly responding to and anticipating patient needs.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and potential side effects, ensuring clear understanding.

What You Need:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire
  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the applicable state
  • No prior experience is necessary
  • Possible travel for training may be required
