Entry Level Registered Nurse - VitreoRetinal Consultants : Job Details

DescriptionLong Island Vitreoretinal Consultants, one of the largest providers of Retina specialty is seeking a Full Time Registered Nurse to work in our Westbury, Great Neck & Rockville Centre locations.In this position we are looking for a compassionate and energetic registered nurse for our busy practice to deliver exceptional patient care to our patients.Roles & Responsibilities:• Assist physicians with procedures, BP, Glucometer• Drawing up drugs for injections• Drawing up drugs for Endophthalmitis - Prepare antibiotics for intravitreal injection• Complete lab requisitions; call lab for specimen pick up if needed; Follow up on all labs.• Maintain, verify and log all inventory of all drugs• Call patients after 1st time injections• Prepare retrobulbar and subconj anesthesia• Checking expiration dates & stock levels of all drugs• Performing FA/ICG injections and monitor signs/symptoms of adverse reactions• Triage nursing calls through the on call system and messages from staff• Completing Disability forms/DMV forms/all excuse letters-school/work/gym.• Complete referral forms for patients (Forsee/Helen Keller/Lighthouse).• Monitor Emergency Kit, Spill kit & Endophthalmitis kit inventories and expiration dates• Monitor refrigerator temperatures; document them in the log book• Coordinating appointments and necessary paperwork for in office treatments• E-prescribing all medications• Make sure all rooms are shut down and closed at the end of the day - equipment cleaned, turned off and covered• Counsel pre-op patients regarding procedure and medications• Write out the pre-op drop instructions• Review medical history and medications with the patientsOn the job training will be providedREQUIRED:• Varied Shifts 4x10 Monday- Saturday - Saturday will be a required day.• Must have NYS License- RNFull time position includes benefits: health insurance, optional dental insurance, Pet insurance, paid time off, 401k
