Orrick is excited to present an outstanding opportunity for an Entry-Level HR Business Partner in our Boston, New York, Menlo Park, San Francisco, Washington DC, or Wheeling, WV office.

The Role: As an Entry-Level HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will play a vital role in supporting our firm and department leadership by providing guidance on HR policies, talent management, employee relations, and overall organizational effectiveness. Working alongside the Head of HR and senior BPs, you will collaborate closely with department leadership, staff, and management to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture. You will also coordinate with various HR focus areas, including recruiting, talent assessment, development, and compensation and benefits, to ensure seamless HR service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team leaders to grasp business objectives and align HR strategies accordingly.
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts for our professional staff.
  • Work with department leaders to identify talent needs and development opportunities.
  • Coordinate with HR centers of excellence to leverage resources and deliver consistent HR initiatives.
  • Partner with the Talent Development function to create and facilitate training programs that enhance employee skills and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, firm policies, and professional standards.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to propose solutions for improved employee experience and firm performance.
  • Lead or support inclusion initiatives to promote diversity within the organization.
  • Provide counsel on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Handle sensitive investigations and employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Act as a resource for benefits, compensation, and leave administration inquiries, collaborating closely with the Benefits team.
  • Contribute to HR projects and process improvements alongside cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  • 1-4 years of HR experience, preferably in a professional services or law firm setting.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to form relationships and influence individuals at all organizational levels.
  • High integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
  • Proven success in executing HR initiatives in a dynamic team-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is as follows:

  • California Major Markets*: $55,000 - $75,000
  • New York City: $55,000 - $75,000
  • National: $48,000 - $62,000

*California Major Markets include San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, and Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within the National range.

Orrick is dedicated to providing a comprehensive and competitive compensation package for our team members. Please note that this compensation information is subject to change. The level of pay within the range will depend on several job-related factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, and geographical considerations. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus based on firm and individual performance.
