Entry-Level Buyer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Buyer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, communicating with the manufacturing team, obtaining quotes, and maintaining relationships with vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to understand material requirements and production schedules.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production deadlines.
• Address any issues related to material quality or delivery delays.
• Request and evaluate quotes from multiple suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
• Analyze quotes based on price, quality, and delivery terms.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible terms.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality or delivery.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Place purchase orders and track their status to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
• Assist in managing inventory to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and products.
• Stay updated on industry trends and pricing fluctuations.
• Provide recommendations for cost-saving opportunities.

Essential Skills

• Procurement skills
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Supply chain knowledge
• Experience with purchasing and buyer responsibilities
• Familiarity with ERP systems, such as Job Boss and Epicor
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze data

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in procurement from the manufacturing industry
• Experience purchasing raw materials such as aluminum, steel, and cleaning chemicals/products

Work Environment

The position is onsite in Tualatin from Monday to Friday, collaborating with a team of 3 to 4 members daily. There is an additional purchasing manager located in California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
