Entry Door Quality Improvement Reports to: Director of Quality
Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM
Location: Walnut Creek, OH Facility
Job Summary This position is responsible for achieving and maintaining the high-quality standards on which ProVia was founded. This individual will provide internal support for quality issues found during production and will conduct root cause analysis and corrective action implementation. They will also be required to travel to customers for homesite visits and assist in determining root cause with other teams such as installation support, engineering, and sales. The candidate is expected to hold and represent ProVia's Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Implement process controls, review and issue CAR's, deviations, and PCN's.
- Identify and develop plan for controlling critical quality features for each door.
- Improve and automate inspection processes to eliminate human error.
- Devise and review specifications for products or processes, both internal and for supplied products.
- Evaluate new and existing equipment capability to meet customer requirements.
- Collaborate with leadership, customers, and production to set quality benchmarks.Meet with customers directly to develop recovery and action plans.
- Make crucial decisions in favor of cost-efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Leading containment, short term, and long-term solutions for customer and production concerns.
- Act as the voice of the customer within ProVia.
- Constantly look to improve the quality of our products, process, and people.
- Assist in all certification audits and testing as needed.
- Develop and lead internal and external audits.
- Travel to job sites for root cause analysis and investigation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Qualifications Include but are not limited to the following:
Technical Skills: - 2-5 years of experience in a quality engineering or quality assurance role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- 5-7 years in window, storm product, or entry door manufacturing roles also qualify
- Associate Engineering, Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or similar analysis training.
- Internal candidates that meet other requirements will be expected to attend Six Sigma or ASQ training within the first year
- Proficiency with quality tools such as FMEA, control plans, and PPAP.
- Willingness to learn 2D and 3D drawing software for gage design.
- Strong diagnostic ability and understanding of root cause investigations.
- Ability to write and present detailed reports for all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office and statistical analysis software.
- Proficient in remote conferencing and collaboration tools.
- Understanding of quality control procedures and standards.
- Ability to read and inspect parts to print.
- Understanding of the types and uses of various quality gages.

Examples of the duties and responsibilities: - Lead root cause investigation of quality feedback to eliminate re-occurrence.
- Correct BOM errors, drawing vs. production part discrepancies, and tolerance stack-up failures.
- Analyze NPD launches to have gages, and process controls ready at launch.
- Work directly with customer and homeowners on site to evaluate product and installation
- Propose automated solutions for quality improvements and capital investment and lead from ordering through implementation
- Ability to build a new process from the ground up as well as utilize existing processes for quality control
