Once training has concluded and depending on WFH task availability, this position will have the opportunity for 1 WFH day per week. The eligible list created from this posting may be used for future vacancies for the next six (6) months. DEFINITION This is the entry level of the Enterprise IT Specialist I-II series, mentored under the Enterprise IT Specialist II level to gain the knowledge necessary to advance to Enterprise IT Specialist II. This work is characterized by structured and closely reviewed work assignments performed with an increasing level of autonomy once applicable standards, policies and procedures are learned. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Provide computer hardware and software support for all Dane County departments, associated offices and both internal and external customers. Deliver, install and test workstations, application software, and other networked devices such as multifunctional devices (MFD's), printers and scanners. Identify, resolve and repair network and hardware problems. Research and troubleshoot application issues. Maintain Help Desk knowledgebase of problems and resolutions. Diagnose and resolve technical and end-user problems in a customer service-oriented, team environment. Deploy, maintain and support personal computers (PCs), laptops and thin clients and associated software running on local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN). Provide administrative support such as network access, permissions and file restorations. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Special Requirements Education, Training and Experience: Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to three (3) years of providing direct customer support in a technical environment. This may be gained through an Associate Degree in Information Management and one (1) year of professional experience. Certifications/Licenses: The ideal candidate will have the following certifications: a) A+ certification b) Network+ certification c) Microsoft Office User Specialist certification Special Requirements: Since the Help Desk provides 24/7 support for departments such as the Sheriff's Office and Badger Prairie Health Care Center, this classification may occasionally be required to work nonstandard hours and respond to after-hours service calls. Background Check Statement: Some positions may require a criminal background check which can include fingerprinting due to the nature of the job's responsibilities. Undesirable Hours Premium Pay: Employees may receive undesirable hours pay of $2.00 for anytime worked between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m and for anytime on Saturday and/or Sunday. (not applicable with all employee groups). Paid Parental Leave: Dane County also provides 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birth or adoption of a child. Caregiver Leave: Dane County offers 80 hours of paid leave to care for an ill family member. Telecommuting: Telecommuting allows employees to work remotely for all or part of their workweek. Dane County considers telecommuting to be a viable, flexible option when both the employee and the job are suited to such an arrangement. Dane County will permit telecommuting when it benefits the productivity of the employee and their department and if determined by employee's department that telecommuting is not detrimental to either the County or the employee.
