Job Description
Systems Vision and Design:
- Gather information/requirements from stakeholders across Uncommon to ensure data architecture aligns with organizational goals.
- Evaluate current data architecture and databases.
- Set and promote the long-term vision for data at Uncommon.
- Develop new data architecture, integrating existing databases, and utilize ETL best practices.
Systems Management:
- Research new methods for data storage and accessibility.
- Collaborate with D&IT leadership to address issues and prioritize improvements.
- Select and implement tools, software, and systems supporting data goals.
- Document and communicate integration services, capabilities, and policies.
- Create testing criteria to ensure data architecture fidelity and performance.
- Identify opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement.
Governance and Documentation:
- Maintain a repository of data architecture artifacts.
- Ensure compliance with data regulations.
- Develop and promote data management standards.
- Document data architecture to maintain an up-to-date overview.
Subject Matter Expert:
- Facilitate user adoption through training materials and mentorship.
- Create communication and change management plans for work streams.
- Act as escalation point for data system issues; provide Tier 3 support.
- Collaborate on projects involving enterprise data.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Partner with DevOps for reporting, auditing, and integration tasks.
- Implement standards to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Support maintenance of existing and new technology tools.
Vendor Management:
- Lead contract renewals and payments.
- Manage vendor relationships and act as liaison for projects.
- Address vendor concerns with the Director.
Qualifications:
Education:
Experience:
- 7-9 years of related experience, including:
- 4+ years with RDBMS and data warehouse solutions (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake)
- 4+ years SQL experience
- 3+ years API integration experience
- 3+ years Git experience
- Proficiency in at least one of R, Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript
- Experience with SDLC methodology (preferred)

Compensation: $127,800 - $159,700, with an approximate offer of $143,700 based on experience.
