About the Position. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has two vacancies for an Engineer-in-Training I in our West Engineering Program, Residencies in the West Program oversee projects that upgrade, reconstruct, and maintain the highway system. Under the supervision and guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer, these positions will apply and implement engineering theories, principles, and standards to highway projects. These positions will carry out established work processes and operations pertaining to either design or construction inspection on transportation projects and learn to take on progressively more complex assignments requiring independent engineering judgment. Additionally, design activities include the development of construction plans, specifications, and preliminary estimates for the advertisement of budgeted transportation projects related to all the Regions Tunnels.
