Position Overview
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing engineering team focused on process improvement, new product introduction, automation, and advanced manufacturing methodologies. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic vision with day-to-day technical execution, ensuring that all engineering programs meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical specialists.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.
- Partner with operations, quality, and program management teams to align engineering strategies with business objectives.
- Engineering Execution
- Oversee all aspects of process engineering, manufacturing engineering, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Ensure seamless new product introductions (NPI) into production with robust processes and risk mitigation strategies.
- Drive the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies including automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing systems.
- Operational Excellence
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data-driven decision-making.
- Improve equipment utilization, reduce cycle times, and optimize workflows to meet efficiency and cost targets.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, ITAR, and other industry/regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with program managers, supply chain, quality, and production teams to meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to support business development and customer engagement.
- Serve as a technical liaison for customer audits, presentations, and new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or high-precision manufacturing environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
- Strong background in manufacturing process development, CNC machining, automation, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Expertise with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated success in NPI, process optimization, and large-scale manufacturing initiatives.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
