MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:The Senior Engineering Manager will lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering teams for both NPI and Sustaining Engineering. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving existing product lines by driving process stability, cost optimization, and quality enhancements. The Engineering Manager will ensure ongoing compliance, support product lifecycle management, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations and business goals.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams responsible for both new product introductions and sustaining engineering, aligning technical execution with business growth and operational excellence.
  • Streamlined the Talent Lifecycle Review (TLR) process by integrating a 9-box framework, enhancing succession planning and stakeholder engagement across AMS.
  • Oversaw successful transfer and scale-up of new products into manufacturing, ensuring robust process validation, design for manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Directed sustaining engineering initiatives to improve yield, reduce cost of goods, and enhance product quality and reliability across mature product lines.
  • Reduced salaried time-to-fill by 31 days through implementation of structured intake meetings and process standardization, improving hiring efficiency and quality.
  • Led enterprise-wide onboarding initiative, increasing completion from 10% to 94% through rigorous tracking, site-level coaching, and executive visibility.
  • Mentored and developed engineering and TA team members into subject matter experts, expanding site-level support and technical capability.
  • Provided strategic talent and engineering support for high-growth initiatives, including the HUGO expansion, and served as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on workforce planning and succession.
  • Recognized for strong cross-site collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and ability to influence leaders through SLT and Ops-level presentations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Job Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing within a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
  • 6+ years of leadership experience, including direct supervision of engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, ISO, and OSHA regulations.
  • Proven leadership in sustaining engineering and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, team-building, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Expertise in process optimization, root cause analysis, and CAPA execution.
  • Deep understanding of medical device manufacturing and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis (T-test, ANOVA), technical documentation, and validation protocols.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, Excel, and Minitab; Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

We offer market competitive compensation. Potential salary range for this role is $130-$175k. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
