Engineering Manager - LHH Recruitment Solutions : Job Details

LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently hiring an Engineering Manager to join our client in Steamwood, IL. This full-time direct hire opportunity is fully onsite. The Engineering Manager will be responsibly for leading and mentoring a team of engineers, reviewing design concepts, timelines and budgets, overseeing the development of cost-effective systems, setting design standards and partnering with leadership. This role requires at least 7 years of engineering experience and proven leadership skills. Responsibilities: • Oversee the development of efficient and cost-effective systems • Set design standards • Lead team of engineers • Partner with leadership to ensure design strategies align with market demands and corporate goals • Ensure effective utilization of CAD systems and workflows to ensure process efficiency • Review and approve design concepts, timelines, budgets and project scopes • Monitor industry trends to inform design strategy • Assist with budget planning and strategic investment decisions Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience • Experience working in a manufacturing environment required • Thorough knowledge of engineering design principles, applied physics and mechanical/electrical systems • Proven experience leading design teams and engineering projects • Proficiency in CAD software, ERP systems, and BOM workflows • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Demonstrated leadership skills Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, short term & long term disability, 401k retirement plan with matching, employee assistance program, tuition reimbursement, 3 weeks paid time off and 11 company holidays.
