Job Description:This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands-on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives.
  • Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills.
  • Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met.
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization.
  • Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain.
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers.
  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders.
  • Engineering Manager to lead Emerging Database Engineering Team. Team is responsible for engineering enterprise database services for internal and external cloud. These database services all CIO applications to deploy secure, resilient, scalable globally distributed databases that are fit for purpose for modern microservice applications.
  • Partner across the CIO teams to understand needs and socialize Emerging Database technologies strategy.
  • Provide roadmap updates, successes, and opportunities to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Lead a team of engineers who are eager to learn and grow.
  • Architect and design database patterns that can meet the resiliency and scalability needs of the bank's most critical applications.
  • Work closely with Product vendors to inform and align with their roadmap with the goal of meeting the business, functional and performance needs of the CIO applications.
  • Proactively focus on risk management including Privileged Access, IT asset management, and Data Privacy controls.
  • This person will be responsible for delivering End to End Database Services for products such as MongoDB, Redis, SingleStore, Cassandra, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, and Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and ElastiCache.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with the one or more of the above-mentioned experiences.
  • Experience with Ansible & Terraform.
  • Hands-on programming experience with Python & SQL.
  • Understanding of Relational and NoSQL database architecture.
  • Understanding of Distributed databases architecture.
  • Experience developing Design documents.
  • Experience developing data models.
  • Experience developing data flow diagrams.

US - NJ - Jersey City - 101 Hudson St - 101 Hudson (NJ2101) Pay and benefits information Pay range $134,900.00 - $217,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education, and skill set. Discretionary incentive eligible This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
