DDG is actively seeking an Engineering Manager for drainage to oversee the planning, design, and implementation of drainage systems for a local municipality. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while addressing flood control and drainage opportunities. The engineer will collaborate with contractors, municipal departments, and regulatory agencies to maintain and improve drainage systems.
Activities & Responsibilities:
- Manage the design and development of municipal drainage systems, including stormwater sewers and regional ponds.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
- Evaluate existing drainage systems and recommend improvements.
- Oversee drainage infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
- Coordinate with contractors and municipal departments to ensure project quality and timeliness.
- Review project designs for compliance with standards and regulations.
- Perform inspections and assessments of drainage systems.
- Manage maintenance and repair of stormwater facilities.
- Address drainage issues such as flooding and blockages promptly.
- Engage with community stakeholders to address concerns.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Track project progress, budgets, and performance.
- Review development project plans and impact studies.
- Participate in public meetings and develop strategic long-term plans for drainage systems.
- Update standards, specifications, and codes to reflect best practices.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with drainage analysis and engineering software.
- Strong knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- PE license required; CFM preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in drainage or stormwater management.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Lifting up to 15 pounds.
- Travel to project sites.
- Access to and navigation of job sites.
