What we expect from you

Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject.

  • Lead an engineering function of a sub-domain in a product area and oversee cross-cutting initiatives across engineering.
  • Co-own and drive the delivery of sub-domain level OKRs with product and design teams.
  • Manage multiple squads to ensure delivery of high-quality, secure software in an Agile environment:
    • Oversee delivery activities such as architecture discussions and solution design.
    • Provide updates and clarity to senior stakeholders.
    • Assist teams facing challenges or delays.
  • Assess hiring needs, develop hiring strategies, and onboard new team members.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate closely with product, commercial, UX, and client teams.
  • Work with architecture teams and principal engineers to identify optimal technical solutions and engineering practices.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements, new technology adoption, and engineering best practices across the organization.
  • Maintain a hands-on role in code development, expected to code up to 40% for mature teams or 20% for new teams.
  • Manage engineering managers, lead engineers, and engineers, ensuring clear expectations, career development, and performance reviews.
  • Define and execute the engineering roadmap (e.g., cloud migration, shift-left testing).
  • Set team-level OKRs, review them quarterly, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Handle resourcing within your budget, including hiring and planning.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define team purpose, goals, and roadmap.
  • Build applications using C# .NET Core with React frontend.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and an API-first approach.
  • Work with containerization and cloud technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Octopus, GitLab, or Argo.
  • Drive individual development plans and coaching for team growth.
