Sterling Engineering is seeking a Maintenance and Engineering Manager for a client of ours near Joliet, IL. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping their operations and driving future growth. Job Duties:
- Develop and implement capital projects to improve environmental compliance, safety, quality, and operational efficiency
- Oversee creation and improvement of equipment/processes in collaboration with engineering personnel
- Develop and maintain systems to track equipment performance and maintenance history, analyzing data to reduce downtime and maximize efficiency
- Implement systems and procedures to improve Operating Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) using the eight pillars of TPM
- Lead, support, and engage the maintenance and engineering team to meet plant objectives and comply with safety and regulatory standards
- Manage inventory of routine and critical parts/equipment
- Oversee large CapEx projects from design to installation and follow-up
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain strong safety culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (required)
- 5+ years of experience directly managing mechanics and engineers in a matrix environment
- Proven success in leading large CapEx projects end-to-end
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Experience with PLC programming and maintenance
- Knowledge of tooling and machine equipment fabrication
- Ability to interpret technical information and regulatory guidelines
- Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience preparing budgets, bids, and contracts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
