Position Overview
The Manager of Engineering and Maintenance is a key leadership role responsible for fostering relationships, building trust, and guiding employee growth. This position oversees manufacturing facilities, engineering, and maintenance teams, ensuring activities are conducted safely and cost-effectively across multiple shifts. The department focuses on safety, maintenance reliability, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of professionals and technicians, ensuring engagement and alignment with company vision while providing strategic leadership.
- Ensure reliable operation of plant manufacturing equipment through preventative and predictive maintenance practices and reliability analytics.
- Manage work orders, preventative maintenance, inventory, and projects.
- Oversee capital projects from inception to commissioning, aligning with plant and corporate goals, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on project budgets, schedules, and activities.
- Maintain safety protocols, review LOTO procedures, and oversee the management of change (MOC) program.
- Support production schedules by directing maintenance activities across shifts and resolving equipment and facility issues.
- Track expenses and manage department budgets.
- Develop and monitor KPIs for the department.
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance through reporting, audits, and incident investigations.
- Develop training and onboarding programs for technicians.
- Update and train staff on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience or training in related fields.
- Proven leadership in fostering relationships, trust, and employee development.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Factory Talk).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $115,731 - $144,664, based on experience and factors.
