Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Test Engineer at our Missile Products Division in our Plymouth, MN location. The System Test Engineer will support the planning, coordination, execution, analysis and reporting of program environmental and EMI test events. The individual will be responsible for understanding test methods and requirements and ensuring testing is executed in accordance with the test plans. Travel up to 50% (or more at times) may be required. The candidate will also support the development of test fixtures, instrumentation and data acquisition plans, transducer selection, and coordinating with test facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Test Engineering team with the preparation of test plans, coordination with test facilities, test execution oversight, and reporting activities.
  • Understanding of data acquisition methods and identifying transducers required to meet test objectives.
  • Support data analysis activities including data compilation and correlation, markings, preparation of data summaries, and data archiving.
  • Support design and fabrication of mechanical test fixtures.
  • Collaborate and communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives.
  • Ability to multi-task. Candidates will be expected to simultaneously support multiple test activities.
  • Ability to travel (up to 50%)

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience (0 years with a master's degree)
  • BS in Aeronautical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with various military standards (e.g MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-2105, JOTP-052 and JOTP-053).
  • Basic understanding of energetic components, materials, and test methods.
  • Experience with climatic, vibration, mechanical shock, Electromagnetic Effects (EME), and Insensitive Munitions (IM) Testing.
  • Familiarity with available signal analysis tools such as MATLAB, and MS EXCEL
  • Must be willing to work with DoD programs and energetic devices.
  • Must be U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
