Position Summary

The Engineer Reliability reports to the Manager Reliability and is responsible for aircraft, power plant, and component trend/performance analysis supporting the Reliability portion of the Continuing Analysis Surveillance System (CASS).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collect data from maintenance and engineering systems and perform statistical analysis to monitor and evaluate the operational and technical performance of the JetBlue fleet.
  • Analyze technical data from aircraft maintenance logs and service records to identify cause and failure trends.
  • Monitor delays, pilot write-ups, and other technical interruptions; evaluate data for trends.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop trend-monitoring reports using visualization tools such as Spotfire, Palantir Foundry, Tableau, etc.
  • Analyze component shop finding reports to determine cause and failure trends; interface with business partners to develop solutions.
  • Produce weekly and monthly Reliability Reports; provide on-demand technical reports to Technical Operations management to evaluate aircraft, powerplant, and component reliability.
  • Participate and present at daily, weekly, and monthly Reliability and Performance meetings; track significant findings as action items.
  • Assist in managing programs like Repeat Items, Category (CAT) II/III, Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM), and Rogue components.
  • Analyze Heavy Maintenance data to determine failure causes; recommend and implement Maintenance Program adjustments and escalations.
  • Maintain awareness of ETOPS significant systems, monitor and resolve related technical issues, and ensure compliance with ETOPS requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Experience and Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Math or a related field, or equivalent qualifications including an A&P Technician Certificate or relevant experience.
    • At least three (3) years of related experience.
    • Strong mathematics knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis and probability distributions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex statistical results to diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities on short notice.
    • Availability for occasional overnight travel (20%).
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and obtain/maintain a SIDA Badge.
    • Legal eligibility to work in the country of employment; US work authorization required.

    Preferred Experience and Qualifications

    • Knowledge of coding languages such as R and Python.
    • Knowledge of SQL.
    • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
    • Familiarity with Commercial Aircraft Systems.
    • Experience with Maintenance Programs, Reliability/Continuing Analysis Surveillance System (CASS), and related processes.
    • Experience with databases like TRAX and Snowflake.
    • Knowledge of FARs applicable to 121 Air Carrier operations.
    • Presentation and facilitation skills, along with strong analytical abilities.

    • Work flexible hours and respond on short notice when needed.
    • Present a professional appearance.
    • Assist with light cleaning of aircraft when working or traveling on JetBlue flights, if time permits.

    Compensation

    • Annual base pay range: $90,000.00 to $118,400.00, with additional benefits including bonuses, stock options, healthcare, 401(k), travel privileges, and more.
