Position SummaryThe Engineer III/Senior, Power Quality - Distribution Operations provides technical engineering support for protection and reliability of our distribution systems. Responsibilities include analyzing distribution circuits, supporting new customer connections, integrating distributed energy resources (DERs), and distribution automation (DA) technologies. The role involves investigating customer complaints related to power quality and reliability, providing technical guidance, and staying informed about industry trends.
Typical ResponsibilitiesEngineer III: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution plus 5 years of relevant experience.
Engineer Senior: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution plus 8 years of relevant experience. Approved degrees include Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural. A Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree requires review for equivalency.
Major AccountabilitiesResponsibilities include preparing engineering plans, designs, analysis, and specifications; collaborating with customers and other departments; improving department performance; managing engineering programs and projects; providing technical guidance; and staying current with technological developments.

Additional InformationHybrid Role: Employees work both remotely and in-person, approximately 40% of the time at an APS or other location. Residing in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners employees) is required. Adequate technology and ergonomic setup are necessary for remote work. Role specifics may change based on business needs.
