The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high-quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system includes 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes across a 2,000 square mile watershed extending 125 miles north and west of the City.
The Office of Energy and Resource Recovery Programs (Energy Office) is responsible for guiding DEP towards its energy and carbon neutrality goals, maximizing resource recovery, and providing energy and performance tracking, program assessment, scientific research, emergency planning, and internal auditing services to DEP's bureaus.
The Energy Office seeks to hire an Energy Project Manager who will report to the Deputy Director of Energy Projects. The role involves ensuring that priority projects progress on schedule and meet scope and savings goals, supporting analysis for energy savings and GHG reductions, and participating in design meetings to advocate for energy-saving measures. Responsibilities include monitoring project progress from initiation to completion, designing and implementing Measurement and Verification (M&V) plans, and preparing documentation for project delivery.
Minimum QualificationsA valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver License may be required for some assignments.
