Job Summary:

The Endoscopy Technician assists Physicians side by side during Endoscopy procedures with focus on advanced Endoscopy Procedures (G.I. & Pulmonary services). The Technician will welcome and prepare patients for their procedures by confirming patient identification & positioning for procedure. Prepares and sets up equipment for procedures and is responsible for turnover of the procedure room(s). Checks functioning of the equipment, setting up instruments and supplies for the procedure. Assists in clean up, replenishes supplies between procedures and confirms all equipment is still functioning. Collects specimens obtained during procedure & confirms all specimens are accurately labeled and brought to the lab. Maintains endoscopy equipment. Notifies Clinical Engineering of malfunctioning equipment, including scopes, and requests loaner equipment as needed. Maintains quality results by following Hospital standards, procedures, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree and a minimum of 1 year of Endoscopy related experience required. Incumbent needs to be able to stand for long periods at a time and able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Endoscopy Technician certification preferred. ACLS certification preferred. Familiarity with digestive tract and respiratory disease processes preferred. Experience with advanced endoscopy procedures preferred. Associates degree in healthcare related field preferred.

Work Days:

Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-7:00pm with oncall requirements weekends and holidays.
