We are seeking a highly motivated and independent clinically skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our growing endocrinology team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of endocrine, managing a diverse patient population that includes individuals with diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary conditions, and endocrine complications related to chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
Key Responsibilities:
- As an Endocrinology NP, you will work closely with our endocrinologists to provide high-quality care for patients with endocrine disorders
- Comfortable treating all aspects in Endocrinology and Metabolic disorders including Diabetes, thyroid and adrenal diseases, osteoporosis, hormonal imbalances
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures as necessary
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with endocrine disorders, in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Prescribe medication and provide patient education on medication usage, side effects, and potential interactions
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to achieve optimal outcomes
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, including specialists, nurses, and dietitians, to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care in EMR
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on advancements in endocrinology practice and research
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA standards, to ensure patient confidentiality and safety
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Nurse Practitioner
- Current Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York
- Certification in Endocrinology or relevant clinical experience in the field
- National Board Certification
- Active and unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Training and experience: Minimum one year of experience in Endocrinology.
- Strong clinical acumen in managing diabetes and complex endocrine conditions
- Experience with diabetes technologies (CGMs, insulin pumps)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient engagement skills
