Position Purpose

The Project Manager I is a management-level position responsible for the day-to-day management of projects. The role involves ensuring the on-schedule, on-budget execution of multiple, complex IT projects. Responsibilities include working with cross-functional departments and clients, gathering requirements, developing project budgets and schedules, managing deadlines, directing design and development phases, and providing status updates. The role requires a broad IT skill set and effective delegation and technical guidance.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Lead requirements gathering and end-user interviews.

Develop project budgets and cost estimates.

Determine project schedules.

Direct design and development phases.

Provide status updates and reports.

Coordinate multiple aspects of project delivery.

Stay updated through industry-related materials and associations.

Understand and utilize company resources.

Develop strategies and align work to achieve goals.

Set meaningful and reasonable goals and directions.

This position is based in our Birmingham, AL home office. It is not a remote role.

QualificationsLicense or Certification

• Valid state driver's license
• Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI is highly recommended

Minimum Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree required
• Minimum 3 years of project management experience required
• Experience in another IT department area may substitute for project management experience
• Must be a current employee with good standing and a performance review rating of 3 or higher
• Healthcare industry experience preferred
• Familiarity with PMBOK methodology, Microsoft Office, software development lifecycle, budgeting, scheduling, resource management, testing, programming languages, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, Medicare, CMS, Sarbanes-Oxley, Privacy and Security)
