Job Description :
Community Care Network is looking for an Employment Specialist to join our team! Community Care Network is comprised of Rutland Mental Health Services and Rutland Community Programs. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of our communities, individuals and families through responsive, innovative and collaborative human services. About the Role: The Employment Specialist works within Adult Services to support individuals who struggle with symptoms of mental illness and/or substance use to find and maintain employment. This position follows the IPS model of supported employment, and works closely with the larger interdisciplinary treatment team to provide person centered services. The Employment Specialist is also responsible for connecting with local employers to develop connections, in an effort to match employer's needs with client's preferences. Responsibilities:
  • Engage clients toward the goal of competitive employment in community job settings
  • Assist clients in obtaining information about how benefits will be affected by employment
  • Support clients to report earnings and provide information on resources to help with tax return preparation.
  • Document all service contacts on a timely basis including face-to-face interviews, collateral and networking contacts, and/or correspondence in addition to maintaining case records in accordance with agency and regulatory standards and requirements
  • Develop relationships with community employers
  • Develop the individual vocational treatment plan with the client, case manager and other treatment team providers with quarterly reviews.
  • Provide supported education, using principles similar to supported employment, for those who want education to advance their careers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred. High School Diploma and experience working within the field required. Experience in business is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of mental illness, recovery, social integration, job development, effective sales techniques, disability benefits, theories of learning and motivation are desired
  • Effectively establish working relationships with internal agency staff as well as with relevant community organizations while interacting positively with consumers and their families.
  • Ability to work in a sometimes-chaotic environment with deadlines and time pressures.

  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation with personal automobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandated by the State of Vermont.
