Department Summary:
MITRE is seeking a dynamic and innovative Employee Events Lead to design, plan, and execute engaging events and experiences that enhance employee engagement and strengthen organizational branding. This role will focus on creating memorable experiences for employees across the employee lifecycle audiences, while fostering collaboration across MITRE's geographical sites and teleworkers. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to partner effectively across teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Event Strategy & Planning:
Develops and implements a comprehensive annual events calendar aligned with employee experience and engagement goals.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to design events that resonate with employee groups across varied geographies, roles, and work environments (hybrid, remote, in-person).
Ensures recognition events reflect company values and celebrate contributions across roles, functions, and identities.
Event Execution:
Leads end-to-end event logistics including budgeting, vendor management, communications, production, and post-event evaluation.
Ensures welcoming and engaging experiences whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid.
Partners with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, Facilities, Communications, ERGs) to ensure smooth execution.
Data Utilization:
Uses feedback and engagement data to continuously improve the quality and impact of events and experiences.
Serves as a culture ambassador, promoting connection, wellness, and celebration through events that reflect MITRE's engagement strategy.
Collaboration with Site Leaders:
Partners with site leaders across MITRE's geographical locations to tailor events and experiences to the unique needs of sites.
Build strong relationships with site leadership to ensure alignment and successful implementation of engagement strategies.
Budget Management:
Collaborate with the director to oversee and manage the event planning budget, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and organizational priorities.
Identifies cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality event execution.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources or a related field; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams, leadership and geographical locations.
Creative mindset with a passion for designing impactful experiences.
Proficiency in budgeting event planning logistics.
Experience analyzing human capital data and using insights to inform decision-making.
Experience supporting events within a corporate setting (on-site and off-site).
Proven expertise in leveraging project management software to support strategic planning, optimize workflows, and enhance team collaboration.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a corporate or non-profit environment.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification.
Knowledge of event planning software and tools.
Vendor management experience.
3+ years of experience in event planning, employee engagement, or corporate branding.

Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$115,500 - $144,500 - $173,500 Annual
