Position Summary:
We're hiring for a strategic HR position focused on developing, leading, and delivering Employer of Choice programs covering everything from employee and leadership development, recruitment and onboarding, safety and wellness, to organizational development and engagement initiatives. This role will ensure strategic leadership, change management, team supervision, succession planning, and record keeping is kept/conducted/managed in accordance with established laws, regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.

We're looking for someone with strong HR leadership experience, a passion for employee development, expertise in training design and delivery (in-person and virtual), and ideally, familiarity with tribal communities. SHRM/HRCI/THRP certification is a plus, and mediation experience is desirable. The position will be located primarily in Longview, WA (4 days/week onsite, 1 day/week remote), and will require flexibility to travel to other locations in Vancouver, Tukwila, and Ridgefield, WA.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. Additional professional experience in HR field may substitute year-for-year for degree requirements.
- Five years' progressive work experience in Human Resources management.
- Four years of supervisory experience.
- Three years of developing or delivering employee training.
- SHRM, HRCI or Tribal Human Resource Professional (THRP) certification or ability to achieve within 6 months of employment.
- Deep understanding of tribal governance, customs, culturally competent adult learning styles, and HR organizational practices.
- Expertise in recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee development, evaluation systems, and compliance with tribal, federal, and state employment laws.
- Strong skills in training design and delivery (in-person and virtual), team supervision, strategic planning, conflict mediation, and performance reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and database tools; capable of preparing budgets, surveys, assessments, and operational reports.
- Effective communicator across all organizational levels with the ability to build relationships, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
- Skilled in coaching, consulting, problem-solving, and driving collaboration through negotiation and persuasion.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Mediation certification is desirable.
- Experience working within American Indian and/or Alaska Native communities preferred.
