Looking for Masters or PhD level embryologists to mentor into lab leadership (Lab Director &/or Lab Supervisor) positions. Must work collaboratively in existing laboratory structure, have a positive mindset, and an exceptional work ethic to join our high-functioning IVF lab team in Midtown Manhattan. For highly competent individuals with meticulous attention to detail who are open to learning from an experienced team and wanting to expand their clinical laboratory experience, this is for you! The preferred candidate will possess a PhD degree. Minimum qualification required is a Master's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field. MUST be eligible to work in the US. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Train under Laboratory Director & Supervisor to perform all aspects of endocrine, andrology, and embryology procedures, including semen preparation for ICSI and IVF; oocyte retrievals; fertilization checks; oocyte denudation; assisted hatching; embryo assessment and grading; embryo selection for transfer; biopsy procedures; and egg/embryo cryopreservation and warming.
- Handle specialized methods for extreme male factor samples including ESS (Extended Sperm Searches), sperm vitrification devices, HOS & MicroTESE ICSI's.
- Prepare patient charts, ART worksheets, culture dishes for egg retrievals, inseminations, embryo culture, and embryo transfers
- Perform regular inventory checks of consumables and media
- Contribute to the accurate recording of patient information by collecting data and entering into the electronic medical records (EMR)
- Perform specimen chain of custody, documentation, and witness procedures
- Support laboratory maintenance by assisting with daily cleaning, equipment upkeep, quality control, clerical tasks, and adherence to safety protocols, ensuring the lab is clean and compliant with standards
- Participate in weekend rotation schedule as required
- Follow safety protocols, including proper hand hygiene and PPE use
- Foster a team culture focused on learning and continuous improvement, contributing ideas to enhance workflows
- Assist in inspection preparations by providing administrative and operational support
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
- Stay updated on organizational, departmental, and patient privacy policies, infection control, and training requirements
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of managing endocrine, andrology, and embryology labs to ensure excellent clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
