PAVE Academy Charter School is a public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY. PAVE provides a K-8 experience that lays the foundation for a productive and choice-filled life. We build our students brick by brick, equipping them with the academic, social, and emotional skills needed to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, overcomers, and leaders in their communities.

We educate 490 Kindergarten–8th-grade scholars each year. Our student population includes 85% eligible for Free and Reduced Lunch, 25% receiving special education services, and 15% English Language Learners (ELL).

Opportunity Summary

PAVE Red Hook seeks a certified Special Education teacher to serve as an Elementary School Intervention Specialist (SETSS) for the 2025–2026 school year. The role involves supporting students with IEPs through in-class and out-of-class services, collaborating with staff, delivering high-quality instruction, and ensuring compliance with all SETSS mandates. The Intervention Specialist will also handle administrative tasks related to special education and report to the Dean of Student Support Services and the Principal.

How You'll Contribute

  • Teach instructional lessons with high behavioral and academic expectations
  • Differentiate curriculum and create accommodations in collaboration with teachers
  • Use data to inform instruction and intervention
  • Align work with school goals and student needs
  • Write and revise IEPs in collaboration with the CSE and staff
  • Manage paperwork such as IEPs, 504 plans, and progress reports
  • Enforce school systems and procedures
  • Communicate regularly with students and families about progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and openness to change
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal
