Our classically inspired approach to education combines a content-rich curriculum, inquiry-driven learning, and a focus on virtues, while providing individualized support to meet each child's unique needs.Position OverviewThe primary responsibility of the Elementary School Assistant Principal (AP) of STEM is to bring Brilla Public Charter Schools' mission to life by executing the Strategic Priorities set forth by the Principal. Supervised directly by the principal, the AP of STEM ensures continuity of instructional practice and fidelity to the curriculum by providing coaching and support in adaptation to meet the needs of a particular cohort.The AP assists the principal in the planning and execution of key academic and cultural initiatives and programming, with a focus on STEM. The AP supervises the school-wide approach to Tier 2 and Tier 3 behaviors in collaboration with the leadership and Student Services team, ensuring that systems and procedures are being followed to best meet the needs of all students.The AP is a highly motivated collaborator who goes above and beyond prescribed duties in support of the principal, teachers, and their students, while also taking initiative to solve problems and address challenges.Core Competencies & ResponsibilitiesInstructional LeadershipModel a deep understanding of instructional best practices and command of elementary STEM content.Implement curriculum and instruction that inspires critical thinking, scholar growth and an appreciation for Truth, Beauty and Goodness.Conduct regular classroom observations, live coach and provide feedback that urgently develops and deepens teachers' understanding of instructional practice.Plan, facilitate, and attend regular, mission-critical programming including weekly leadership meetings and other administrative activities.Engage in ongoing analysis of student data to inform strategy and adjustments to instruction.Create and facilitate weekly professional development sessions for staff aligned to instructional goals of the campus.Talent ManagementDemonstrate strong collaboration and communication with all team members and network partners.Support principal with the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new staff.Monitor and address staff professionalism.Conduct bi-weekly coaching meetings with teachers on caseload grounded in student data.Strategic ThinkingModel an achievement orientation & drive by setting ambitious goals and securing accountability.Support principal in crafting and communicating strategic school systems and culture.Seek and implement feedback from families, staff and scholars around school initiatives.School CultureCreate experiences that foster joy, a love of learning, and a sense of belonging to the school community.Work with the Principal and Instructional Coaches to design and hold others accountable to the Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavioral and academic processes.Family EngagementSupport a welcoming and engaging culture of hospitality for every family.Participate in family engagement initiatives.Promptly and effectively respond to family concerns.Other DutiesPerform other duties as assigned, including attending network/school walkthroughs and supporting external professional development activities.QualificationsAn unwavering commitment to the educational mission of the Brilla Schools Network.A high level of initiative, flexibility and resiliency.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Capacity for managing diverse projects and strong organization.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution (Master's Degree preferred).At least two years teaching in an urban school serving predominantly low-income children.At least one year of experience successfully leading and managing a team of adults.BenefitsComprehensive Professional Development : More than 225 hours annually.Community and Culture : An intentionally joyful workplace with bonding events.Flexible Health Coverage : A full suite of medical, dental, and vision plans.Competitive Compensation : A salary range of $116,000 to $146,000.Retirement Plans : 403(b) plan and 401(k) retirement options.Work-Life Balance : Generous paid time off and wellness resources.Please note: The above is based on the 2024-2025 plan year.#J-18808-Ljbffr
