Electronics And Instrumentation Technician
Our EandI Technicians will perform advanced maintenance procedures on all plant equipment, including AC/DC control circuitry, programmable logic controllers, microprocessor controls, power distribution systems, computer hardware, line inspections, and preventative maintenance procedures from a checklist. Minor mechanical adjustments and equipment/part replacement. Routine maintenance to complex electrical troubleshooting, and will be responsible for calibrating, programming, installing, and troubleshooting instrumentation such as temperature, pressure, and level transmitters and control valves.
Working schedule for this role: 12 hour rotating shift 6am-6pm.
Accountabilities:
- Perform maintenance procedures for computer hardware, AC/DC control circuitry, programmable logic controllers, microprocessor controls, and power distribution systems.
- Run rigid conduit and pull wire.
- Modify and design control circuitry for existing and new equipment.
- Perform maintenance procedures by use of simple tools of various trades, hand tools, and welding equipment.
- Lubricate all process equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance per standard procedures.
- Report all equipment failures to appropriate supervisors in writing and verbally.
- Understanding all fryer safety checks and fryer operations.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting using appropriate electrical measuring instruments and electrical schematics.
- Basic hydraulic troubleshooting, including aggressive leak control, piping selection, valve, and motor operations.
- Basic pneumatic troubleshooting, including aggressive leak control, and appropriate usage of compressed air versus low-pressure air.
- Identify common minor problems and fix them before becoming a major problem, including bearings, chains and sprockets, wire mesh, and wear strips.
- Mechanical duties such as the removal of large electrical devices, using material handling devices, repairing the devices re-installing repaired/new devices/working safely, following NEC code practices and OSHA regulations.
- Designs and constructs controllers and circuit boards.
- Responding to trouble calls quickly.
- Complicated tools and instruments will be used to operate, repair, adjust, troubleshoot, install, and fabricate electronic and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Strictly adhere to all company and plant policies concerning safety, performing proper Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, using proper lifting techniques, and wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Certification and/or Associate Degree in Electronics or Industrial Electrician Degree and/or Computer Hardware Electronics preferred.
- Must have prior knowledge of electronics, refrigeration, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret company policy and procedure, safety rules, equipment operation, and maintenance instructions.
- Must have completed the required level of TPC training modules.
Skills:
- Must be able to read and interpret detailed electrical schematics, sketches, layouts, and specifications.
- Must have the ability to prepare, read, write, and understand routine reports and correspondence.
- Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, or move up to 10 lbs.; frequently lift, push pull up to 25 lbs.; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to train and coach Maintenance Technicians.
- Have a working knowledge of NEC code, NFPA 70E, its interpretation and implementation.
- Providing technical expertise to Maintenance Technicians.
Compensation Package: $35.74 - $43.40 USD hourly + bonuseligibility
