Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ElectronicTechnician to join a leading medical device distribution and repair company. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining biomedical equipment, including critical care monitoring and diagnostic ultrasound devices. The ideal candidate has strong electronics repair skills, is comfortable with component-level troubleshooting, and can perform equipment upgrades and refurbishments while maintaining documentation and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform component-level troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and testing of biomedical and electronic medical devices
- Diagnose equipment failures, document repairs, and provide trending information to engineering staff
- Service and refurbish equipment, including software updates and equipment upgrades
- Disassemble and reassemble electronic units, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and RMA matching
- Utilize electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, volt-ohm meters, frequency counters, DC power supplies, soldering irons, etc.) for diagnostics and repair
- Communicate with customers regarding repair details, timing, and billing authorizations
- Support the quality department with data collection and assist with resolving billing or shipping issues
- Partner with biomedical technicians and sales representatives for equipment setup, installation, and troubleshooting assistance
- Maintain compliance with repair documentation protocols and established company standards
- Make recommendations for new equipment procurement and parts replenishment
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Electronics or equivalent military/technical training preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in electronics repair or electronics assembly in a manufacturing environment (medical device experience a plus)
- Strong aptitude for troubleshooting electronic circuits and components
- Proficient with electronics test equipment and basic hand tools
- Comfortable working on computers, with proficiency in Windows OS, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ERP systems
- Ability to work independently, follow established procedures, and meet deadlines
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
