Who You Are:
Versar has a unique opportunity for self-motivated security professionals, able to work independently to meet deadlines and response times, and in support of important missions within the Federal Government. Versar requires highly skilled, full-time, professional Mid-Level Security Technician.

What You'll Do:
Assist with the design, procurement, logistics, installation, routine maintenance, sustainment, configuration, programming, and lifecycle replacement of PACS, IDS, VSS, and physical security systems within this contract, as well as the integration of other safety and security subsystems.Ensure equipment is updated and operational, meeting local, state, federal, and ADA requirements.Assist with 3rd party security systems integration, software updates, and train personnel in system use.Support security assessments, technology upgrades, product selection, testing, verification, and inspection for compliance.Provide recommendations for security equipment and systems.Help organize and manage parts stock and tools.Assist with issuing, assigning, and removing access rights for access control cards.Instruct employees on system use, establish alarm codes, and maintain access records.Maintain inventory of parts and equipment for timely repairs and installations.Monitor and resolve service and repair issues, maintaining records.Create and run reports for security systems as needed.Provide onsite security training to customer personnel.Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll Bring:
- High school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience with security systems, including service and maintenance, with at least one year inspecting PACS, IDS, and VSS.
- Top-Secret clearance required.
- CSEIP certification preferred or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Knowledge of industry standards and policies such as physical and electronic security, access control, HSPD, NIST SP, FICAM, OMB, and ISC.
- Understanding of other security disciplines and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Judgment and initiative in problem-solving.
- Working knowledge of low voltage systems and network principles.
- Proficiency in English.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including background check, MVR, and drug test.
- Compliance with company policies on drugs and alcohol.
- Authorization to work in the US or ability to obtain it by start date.
Compensation
Expected Salary: $28.37 - $29.81 per hour

Location Requirements
Primarily onsite in the Washington, DC metro area.
